After some Misandric outbursts from Desmond Tutu we send him this letter:

Friday, 10 February 2012

To The Honorable Right Reverend Archbishop Desmond Tutu:

Dear Sir:

After hearing your recent comments concerning the gender power paradigm, and your proposed solution, we feel that you have committed a grievous error. By making the statement published, you have proscribed a change of the human situation to go from a male-dominant paradigm to a female-dominant one. We believe that this is only replacing one imperial structure with another, and that it does not really solve the problem. We believe that the only way to solve the current poor condition of humanity is to stick with the ideas presented by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Mohandas Gandhi: namely that if one human is oppressed, we are all oppressed; and that true equality and freedom will only exist when ALL humans are considered legally equal, and are considered for their God-given gifts and abilities.

Your comments, as published, outright demonize males, blaming them for everything that has happened, and everything that is wrong in the world; and that somehow, a totally female-run planet would be so much better by an unknown mechanism. The statement is asinine and ludicrous, especially coming from a human rights champion of your caliber. You have always fought for justice and equality, why should 2012 be different in your behavior and opinions? Because of your statement, males will suffer, some will even be enslaved or killed. Your comments devalue human males, which is unacceptable. It appears that you are choosing one group above another, as a kind of a superior or master race. Again, it is a chilling statement, especially coming from you.

If your comments are taken seriously, and in a widespread way, we could end up seeing the horrors of male fetuses being aborted, and male babies left out to die. These horrid events currently take place en masse against female infants in several large cultures, and are rightly fought and campaigned against. Why should we now simply switch the victims of this genocide, as if a different gender carries some unnamed inherent enchantment or virtue? Such misandry is completely unacceptable.

We are asking you to reconsider your comments, and retract; or fully explain what might have been an incomplete idea or mis-recorded thought process. While in your retirement, you may think your legacy is permanent and stable- but by allowing these comments to stand will tarnish your legacy by quite a substantial amount. One need not throw half of humanity to the wolves to help and empower the other half. Such thinking is juvenile, and only continues the division of humanity along the lines of “the battle of the sexes”. We pray this is not your intention.

Yours Sincerely,
JoaquinRaymundo Rodriguez & Phlip Volschenk
